Countdown to Our Remodeling: What to Expect

The excitement is building as we approach the start of our remodeling project, scheduled to begin on May 1st. The last days of April will be busy with packing and moving our belongings into storage, setting the stage for a smooth transition. This post will guide you through what to expect during this preparation phase and how we plan to keep operations running, especially for pet wellness and limited medical concerns, with the arrival of our modular unit.

Preparing for the Move: Packing and Storage

Packing up a space for remodeling requires careful planning and organization. The last few days of April will be dedicated to this task, and here’s how we are approaching it:

  • Sorting Items: We are categorizing everything into what will be stored, what will be moved to the modular unit, and what can be donated or discarded. This helps reduce clutter and makes unpacking easier after the remodel.

  • Packing Supplies: Using sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and labels ensures that fragile items are protected and everything is easy to find later.

  • Storage Solutions: We have arranged for secure storage to be delivered to CHEW. Items that are not temperature sensitive or being used during the remodel will be stored there.

Volunteer: We are urgently seeking volunteers to assist with moving. Please watch for our sign-up sheet, which will be available soon!

Modular Unit Arrival: Keeping Services Running

One of the biggest challenges during remodeling is maintaining essential services. We are fortunate to have a modular unit arriving soon, which will allow us to continue seeing pets for wellness visits and limited medical concerns. Here’s what this means:

  • Continuity of Care: Clients can still bring their pets for routine check-ups and minor medical needs without interruption.

  • Limited Space, Focused Services: The modular unit is compact, so services will be focused on wellness and minor treatments rather than full-scale medical procedures.

This approach helps us stay connected with our community and maintain essential care during the remodeling.

What to Expect During Remodeling

Starting May 1st, the remodeling will begin in earnest. Here’s a glimpse of what the process will involve:

  • Noise and Dust: Remodeling naturally brings noise and dust. We will take steps to minimize disruption, such as sealing off work areas and scheduling noisy tasks during less busy hours.

  • Timeline Updates: We will provide regular updates on progress and any changes to service availability. Keeping everyone informed is a priority.

Understanding these factors helps set realistic expectations and prepares everyone for the temporary changes.

Tips for Clients and Visitors

If you plan to visit during the remodeling, here are some tips to make your experience smoother:

  • Check for Updates: Follow our announcements for the latest information on hours, services, and access points.

  • Be Patient: Remodeling can cause delays or changes. Your patience and understanding are appreciated as we work to improve the space.

By staying informed and flexible, clients can help make this transition period easier for everyone.

Looking Ahead: The Benefits of Remodeling

While remodeling can be disruptive, the end result will bring significant improvements:

  • Enhanced Facilities: Upgraded spaces will provide a better environment for pets, clients, and staff.

  • Improved Efficiency: New layouts and equipment will streamline operations and enhance service quality.

  • Modern Comforts: Updated design and amenities will create a more welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

These benefits will make the temporary inconvenience worthwhile and support our commitment to excellent care.
