Appointments
We know many of you have had trouble getting an appointment, and we understand how frustrating that is when your pet needs care. Our schedule depends on the veterinarians we have available. Hiring has been difficult for a small nonprofit hospital like CHEW, but we are actively looking for more doctors. We hope to offer more appointments as our team grows. For now, we are doing the best we can with the team we have.
Blake, our AI receptionist
CHEW receives around 100 calls a day, and our team has had a hard time keeping up. We added Blake to answer routine questions, such as exam costs and our location, so our staff could focus on calls that need personal attention.
We know Blake has been helpful for some clients and frustrating for others. We hear your feedback. We will likely continue using some form of AI assistance, but we are looking into other options that may work better.
Why we’re remodeling
In 2020, we turned a run-down, vacant building into a hospital with the budget and resources we had. CHEW has grown since then. The layout no longer fits the work we do, and wear and tear has left more and more things needing replacement.
We’re remodeling so our team can care for patients in a space that works for them. Construction will begin soon, and we expect it to take approximately four to six months.
Dental appointments
Unfortunately, our dental machine stopped working. We are looking for a replacement and hope to offer dentals again within the next couple of months, or sooner. We’ll post an update here when we know when we can begin scheduling them.
Thank you for your patience as we make this move. We look forward to welcoming you and your pets to our temporary space on Monday.
